1915 Paterson 6-48
Founded in Flint, Michigan in 1908 by William A. Paterson, the Paterson Motor Car Company grew from a respected carriage-building heritage into a producer of dependable American automobiles.
Paterson automobiles were known for conservative engineering, solid construction, and honest performance.
By 1915 the firm had progressed into refined six-cylinder cars aimed at discerning touring motorists.
The Paterson Model 6-48 was introduced as the company’s premium six-cylinder offering.
It featured a smooth 40 horsepower six-cylinder engine and a 117-inch wheelbase chassis.
Available primarily in five- and seven-passenger touring form, it suited long-distance motoring.
The Model 6-48 offered strong road performance with excellent reliability.
Paterson never chased mass production, focusing instead on quality over quantity.
This approach makes surviving examples particularly scarce today.
The Model 6-48 represents Paterson at the height of its craftsmanship and prestige.
the example offered here for sale has never been advertised before, and for many years has quietly moved between collectors.
