1965 Austin Mini Cooper
A few lucky Austin Mini Coopers were built not in Britain, but way down in Rhodesia—Umtali (Now modern day Zimbabwe) to be exact. These feisty little cars had all the charm and spunk of the original, just with a bit more sun and red dust in their story and a lot less rust. Locally assembled and rare as hen’s teeth, they became a unique blend of British engineering and African grit. Of course, political drama wasn’t far behind, and production didn’t last long. Today, if you spot one, you’ve found a quirky classic with a seriously cool passport.
This little Cooper is a 1965, very early production. All the right Cooper bits.
