1968 Mercedes Benz 280SE Coupe Automatic W111
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches
I must make amends
I worked hard all my lifetime
No help from my friends
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A Mercedes Benz?
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A color tv?
Dialing For Dollars
Is trying to find me
I wait for delivery
Each day until three
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A color tv?
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A night on the town?
I’m counting on you, Lord
Please don’t let me down
Show me you love me
And buy the next round
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A night on the town?
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches
I must make amends
I worked hard all my lifetime
No help from my friends
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me
A Mercedes Benz?
– Janis Joplin
In 1961 Mercedes Benz launched the 111 Coupe following the success of the 111 Sedan. The design team of the Austrian Béla Barényi the father of Mercedes Benz safety and Paul Bracq the iconic French designer designed a car built like a German tank, with a build quality to match Rolls-Royce. The right hand drive version was twice the price a Rolls Royce, they were always exclusive in their home country, and ten times as rare in right hand drive markets, with under 300 cars built.
The car offered is a beautifully specced example, it has power steering, Air-conditioner, Column shift automatic gearbox , Disc brakes all round and Fuel injected. The ride quality is exceptional.
With Pagoda DNA, this is a phenomenal motorcar.
